Off the tee you must make the decision whether to continue safely to the right of the trees or to use the direct route to the left, carrying the pond in doing so. The riskier option will be rewarded with a much shorter approach to the green and also take some of the greenside bunkers out of play. This very long green slopes steeply from back right to front left.
